ASI-MV Connect Takes Addiction Assessment to The Next Level
Newton, MA (PRWEB) July 2, 2007 -- Inflexxion Inc., today announced the launch of the Addiction Severity Index-Multimedia Version® Connect program, a powerful, new substance abuse assessment system. The ASI-MV® Connect is the web-enabled version of the ASI-MV® and consists of three major components: the client self-administered ASI-MV® interview; tailored reports populated with client-specific data; and a powerful data analysis tool, the ASI-MV® Connect Data Center.
"ASI-MV® Connect offers organizations both a cost-effective way to increase the number of client assessments, as well as the ability to view substance abuse data and trends within their individual facility and their larger organization," explains Simon Budman, Ph.D., President and CEO of Inflexxion.
Clients self-administer the Addiction Severity Index assessment by following audio and video prompts on a computer installed with the ASI-MV® Connect program. Immediately following the assessment, a narrative report, client placement worksheet, and domestic violence risk summary populated with client-specific data are available to clinicians. These reports assist clinicians with treatment planning and client referrals.
Administrators use ASI-MV® Connect Data Center to analyze aggregate, de-identified client data that is securely uploaded via the Internet. The ASI-MV® Connect Data Center streamlines data collection by eliminating the cost of collecting, cleaning, organizing and analyzing data from multiple facilities. Administrators are easily able to analyze data in chart or table format in "real-time" to inform resource allocation or for use in grant proposals.
"The ASI-MV® Connect system includes additional questions relating to prescription medication abuse. Our new system moves substance abuse assessment, treatment planning and data management to the next level," explains Al Villapiano, Ed.D, Vice President of Clinical Development at Inflexxion.
The ASI-MV® Connect system can be downloaded directly from the Internet, and system updates occur seamlessly and automatically whenever the computer is online.

Teen Addiction To Prescription Drugs
Teens experiment with prescription drugs for many different reasons. Some teens think the drugs will help them to have more fun or to be happier, or lose weight. Because family members could have the prescription, these drugs can be easier to get than street drugs. Prescription drugs are very commonly sold on the street like other illegal drugs as well. Some teens even think a prescription drug, regardless of whom it was prescribed to be safer than an ordinary street drug.
